UNITED WAY OF MANISTEE COUNTY:

  1. We're creating a better community.                                                                                                      United Way is committed to advancing the common good in Manistee County. We do this by connecting and mobilizing the caring power of our community.  We unite volunteers, donors, businesses and non profits to make real lasting change in the areas of EDUCATION, HEALTH AND FINANCIAL STABILITY.                                                                                                                                      

  2. Together, We Can Do More.                                                                                                           In the 2018-2019 fiscal year, Campaign, Donations and Volunteer Hours processed through the United Way combined to raise $221,275.16 in Manistee County. This was our most successful fundraising campaign in a decade!  People in Manistee County are being directly affected by your donations. Your money and time IS and WILL continue to make a difference.                                                                                                                                                                       

  3. We're Building Relationships.                                                                                                                      The United Way of Manistee County currently has 20 member agencies within our community.  We are also partner with other programs like 2-1-1 & other nonprofits in the region to create real change in the areas of education, health and financial stability.                                                                                                                                                                

  4. Your Money Stays in Manistee County.                                                                                             Dollars raised in our community stay in our community to help build a better place for us all to live, work and raise our families. 98.5% of your donation to us stays in Manistee County and funds things like ARC and COVE.                                                                                                                                                                                     

  5. A Strong Community is a Good Place to Call Home 

        We all WIN when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable and when people are          in good health.  United We Fight.  United We Win.

ADVOCATE

10 WAYS TO ADVOCATE FOR THE UNITED WAY OF MANISTEE COUNTY

  1. Whenever possible, tell your family and friends about the United Way of Manistee County and the work that we do.                                                                                                                                                                             

  2. Get informed. Make it a point to learn about and discuss local issues, then decide how you’ll get involved.                                                                                                                                                     

  3. If you’re passionate about education, income and health issues in our community, make some noise. Take your passions and use them to write a letter to the local newspaper or get further involved.                                                                                             

  4. Wear the LIVE UNITED T-Shirt.                                                                                                                               

  5. Send an e-mail or make a call to your elected officials.                                                                                             

  6. Contact the United Way of Manistee County to book speaker for your workplace or social organization. They'll help you organize a workplace campaign and share things that we are doing in the community!                                                                                                                                                                       

  7. Tell someone who may need it about the local resources that we have provide (Ex. 2-1-1, Project Read, MDVSART & more).                                                                                                                                                                     

  8. Make sure you link things back to our Website, Facebook and Instagram Page.   Share our posts to help get the word out!                                                                                                                                                                                   

  9. Volunteer for the United Way of Manistee County. We are currently working with organizations in our community to compile a huge pool of volunteers for our projects. And check out our volunteering database for opportunities!                                                                                                                                                  

  10. Connect. Join a neighborhood association or simply introduce yourself to a neighbor you haven’t met. Part of our goal is to mobilize the caring power of Manistee County, and in order to do that we need to LIVE UNITED.
